“C’est Hip, C’est Hip, C’est Hop” draws inspiration from the centuries-old traditions of Cajun Mardi Gras in rural Louisiana. Unlike the elaborate parades of New Orleans, the courir de Mardi Gras is a community ritual rooted in the Acadian countryside.
Participants wear handmade costumes composed of layered fabric strips and distinctive masks, traveling through the countryside while singing traditional chants and gathering ingredients for a communal meal.
