I was sitting on a bench in Parc Sans Souci, cooling off a plate of piping-hot sweet potato beignets when this barefoot fellow cruised by on an adult tricycle. No rush. No shoes. Just vibes. Livin’ the Dream.
For a moment, I was jealous. He looked so free, like he had it all figured out. The beignets were irresistibly good and I made short work of them, but that image stuck with me.
This painting is a tribute to that fleeting moment- simple joy, sweet freedom, and a little Louisiana magic.
